How can I join?

To join the Cambs Youth Panel you need to be at least 11 years old, and you need to live in or be educated in, the area of Cambridgeshire South. This includes:

• South Cambs
• East Cambs
• Cambridge City
• Huntingdonshire

We are an inclusive society that welcomes people from all backgrounds and walks of life. We are here to embrace diversity and promote cooperation between different communities.

Consequently, if you wish to become a panel member you need to have an open mind, and an ability to see things from other people's perspectives.

Panel members are proactive - they look for opportunities to support their community and each other. We frequently task our young people to do different things on behalf of the Panel. This means that Panel members need to be reliable, loyal and hardworking.

Attending meetings is a must - and while exceptions can always be made for people who need them - it is important that you can communicate and manage the expectations of the group in an appropriate way.

By joining the Youth Consultation Panel you will meet people of influence and authority. It is essential that you use these opportunities for good reasons and impress upon them how valuable youth consultation and engagement is for the whole of society.
