Where & When

Regular Meetings

The Cambs Youth Panel meets at least once per month - and for the foreseeable future meetings will be held on a designated Monday between 6PM and 8PM. The regular venue for meetings is  Parkside police station (Parkside, Cambridge) - however meetings will also be held in Cambourne and Ely.

***NB In light of the COVID-19 crisis our group has shifted to meeting online in a virtual environment. Additionally to provide each other and our communities with additional support these meetings are happening weekly on a Monday evening.

Special Events

The Panel have been involved in all types of special events. We've done fundraising at Ely market, we've attended LGBTQ+ Pride events, and we've visited the Palace of Westminster in London.

When we are working on exceptional projects - like 'Arms Around the World' we will schedule extra meetings to support and organise our activities.

Supporting other bodies & agencies

We send delegates to the Ely City Council Youth Forum on a quarterly basis. We are always happy to send representatives to speak about the youth perspective with any local or regional government event or function.

In June 2018 Cambs Youth Panel representatives attended the University of Cambridge Department of Architecture for a planning consultancy on the area of Mitchem's Corner in Cambridge.

Do you need to get in touch with the views of young people?

If you chair or organise a committee that aims to complete a social project that will effect young people, and you'd like to gain feedback, an opportunity for consultation, or you need help getting in touch with a broader cross section of young people - we may be able to help you.

Democracy & Ownership

All of our meetings are scheduled by the group to suit the diaries and commitments that they are carrying. We're always mindful of the school calendar and the pressures that exist around exam seasons particularly.

We can and do schedule exceptional meetings where guests and visitors need our support and assistance.

All of our members have an equal vote and an equal say on what we do - and this includes where and when we meet.
